1987 Mercedes-Benz 560 SL — Classic Roadster, Red with Tan Interior

Few cars capture the pleasure of an afternoon drive quite like a classic Mercedes-Benz SL. This 1987 560 SL pairs a red exterior with a warm tan interior, a black soft top, and the unmistakable proportions that have made these roadsters enduring favorites.

The paint recently received a professional polish to improve its shine. The front fender remains faded despite the polishing, and the photos show its current appearance. Inside, the tan upholstery, wood trim, and traditional gauges give the cabin its distinctive period character.

This car includes the black soft top only. No removable hardtop is included. We purchased it at a dealership auction without the hardtop.

This 560 SL runs and drives and has approximately 170,000 miles. We are offering it as a running, driving project for someone who appreciates a classic Mercedes and is comfortable taking on further improvements.

An exhaust leak remains. The passenger-side exhaust flange gasket was replaced, which reduced the noise but did not completely resolve the leak. Further diagnosis and repair will be needed.
