This is not the basic economy-car version of the Dart. The GT combines a 2.4-liter MultiAir four-cylinder with sportier styling, a well-equipped interior and a chassis that makes it more enjoyable to drive than the typical compact sedan.

The dark exterior looks sharp against the GT’s large five-spoke alloy wheels, fog lights, rear spoiler, full-width “racetrack” taillamp and dual exhaust outlets. It has a low, purposeful stance without looking overdone.

Inside, the black leather-trimmed sport seats feature red stitching and are complemented by red accents throughout the cabin. Equipment includes heated front seats, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen, Bluetooth, push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, steering-wheel audio controls and a digital instrument display.

The automatic transmission makes it easy to live with every day, while the GT trim gives it enough personality to keep it from feeling like just another commuter car. The cabin and trunk are both clean and practical, although the interior shows some normal wear consistent with its age and mileage.
